What have you been doing!? As for me, I had Spring Break a few weeks ago. I drove from here (New York) to Florida (Orlando)25 hour road trip!!! It was awesome. I didn't get burned at all either, thats pretty successful in my book. Getting together all my senior work to graduate and look for jobs...I'm thinking Chicago? Our annual Juried show was last night and I took away 3 awards! I'm so happy with myself. And the BFA show is coming up in April, which will showcase my best work to date, my best work EVER. I have one piece done and I suppose I can show a detail of it for everyone:
It's going to be a triptych (this is the middle) of my trip to Europe over New Years with my friend while we visited my long lost Australian friend and brother who were in England. It was a good trip. This is only a quarter of the image which will be 5 feet long in diameter.
In other news.....MY WEBSITE IS FINALLY UP!!!! go to:
And you will see my professional portfolio that has been in the works for the past year and a half. It's all flash so make sure you have the latest version.
I guess I asked too many people to look at it :\ It should be up later today. But I suppose that message means a lot of people are looking at it which is good. And thank you
I noticed some of the lines in the images are slightly misaligned, and I'm guessing this is because the computer/Flash is resizing them? I know on some of them the lines should be smooth, but that's only because I've seen them here. A potential client looking at your site will not know that, and may think your linework is choppy and inconsistent.
And wow! I just tried to look at your site again, but the bandwidth has been exceeded. Heheh, you must have a lot of watchers!
Anyway, the other thing I remembered was the last piece in your digital gallery titled 'You & Me'. I would actually strongly suggest you remove this one, as several of my illustration friends and I think it is your weakest piece. It doesn't really do anything for your gallery, and if I were a publisher seeking an illustrator/designer I think it would leave a bad taste in my mouth. My illustration professors emphasize that more is not better in portfolios, and to only show your strong works because you will be constantly judged by your weakest piece.
If you're wondering why I'm targeting this piece, it's because the marks aren't very well designed and the coloring technique doesn't come across as professional and developed.
Anyway, those are my thoughts! Aside from the suggestions, I loved every thing else. It was very fun to explore!
